Why this matters
Evidence consistently shows that paternal engagement plays an important role in children’s educational, social and emotional development. Despite this, fathers are often less visible within school engagement approaches and family support systems.
Fathers First CIC aims to help address this gap by developing practical, scalable and research-informed approaches that strengthen father engagement across educational settings.
Our approach
Our approach combines educational practice, behavioural insight and evidence-informed intervention design.
We aim to develop approaches that are practical for schools, measurable in impact and capable of wider adoption across education systems.
Fathers First CIC is particularly interested in how schools can strengthen father-inclusive practice in ways that improve children’s learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom
Current focus
Fathers First CIC is currently developing a primary school-focused intervention model designed to strengthen paternal engagement and improve home learning environments through father-inclusive school practice.
The organisation is focused on developing scalable approaches that can be tested, evaluated and adopted across educational settings.
